Job Summary:

We’re looking for a hardworking General Laborer/Mason Apprentice to join our team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn the masonry trade. You’ll be responsible for tasks like selecting materials, mixing mortar, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment, as well as setting up scaffolding. The ability to work at heights is essential. This position offers 40-60 hour work weeks with optional overtime and weekend work available. Responsibilities:
  • Ability to select types of cement, plaster mortar, blocks, stone, or brick to be used 
  • Assist with mortar mixing, scaffold setup, and overall job site preparation and cleanup.
  • Provide effective direction to fellow cement masons and employees.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a hazard-free and clean work environment
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to overcome construction challenges.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site.
  • Ensure that safety is paramount on all job sites
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow, address issues, and ensure project requirements are met satisfactorily.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
 
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications is a bonus.
